Turtle Beach PX22 Review

When I started for a new headset, I was told by a friend to check out Turtle Beach headsets. I did a little research and found out that the company have over 35 years of audio experience. This did give me some comfort, as purchasing a headset really is an investment buy so I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. I chose the Turtle Beach Headset PX22 model to use with my Xbox 360. I have to say that I feel like I’ve made the right decision, and I’m really happy with the overall performance of this headset. I’ve highlighted below, some of the key pros and cons that I’ve noticed so far.

  • Having a good chat feature was always important to me, and with this Turtle Beach headset the voice chat is crystal clear.
  • One really great benefit of this product is how excellent it is at blocking out external noise. When I put it on, I can completely immerse myself in the game.
  • The headset is really small and light which is a nice change to a lot of the big and bulkier models I looked at.
  • I bought this headset purely to use with my Xbox 360, but I was happy to discover that it is also compatible with my other devices.

  • This particular headset does not come with surround sound, which does put it at a bit of a disadvantage to other models on the market.
  • Because of the small and light design, the cables are pretty flimsy and definitely need to be carefully handled.
  • The setup can be difficult, and it’s a fiddly job to get all the cables organised and in the right place.
  • Sometimes there is a little bit of white noise.
  • I do find that after wearing this headset for a long time my ears hurt a bit, but this is to be expected with any headset.

Turtle Beach PX22 Review 2

In conclusion, I wanted an affordable and good quality headset and this Turtle Beach headset definitely delivered. I love the fact that I can completely block the world out and delve headfirst into the game. It gives a new dimension to the escapism aspect of gaming. Although the setup can be a bit annoying and fiddly, following the manual to the letter and taking your time speeds it up, and the end result is definitely worth it.
