Sony vs. Bose noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones – Which Is Better?

Sony vs. Bose noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones

If you’re in the market for new noise-cancelling headphones, you should know that Sony and Bose make high-quality headphones of this type. Today, we’d like to share information about both of these types of headphones. Once we provide these details, you’ll be able to compare their features and pros and cons and then decide which headphones are right for you.

The two pairs of headphones that we’ll be looking at today are Sony MDR-1000X and Bose Quiet Comfort 35 designs. To start things off, let’s look at the Sony headphones. They generally retail for just under three hundred and fifty dollars, although prices will vary by retailer.

These wireless headphones deliver wonderful sound quality. As well, after being charged for four hours, they will operate for twenty hours or less without needing to be re-charged. These headphones come with touch-sensitive controls which are located near the right ear cup. The controls will allow you to adjust volume, initiate Pause, switch to the next or previous tune, mute the sound and disable noise-cancelling.

As you can see, these touch-sensitive controls do provide a lot of options. Plus, they are very easy to use.

These headphones do come with a cable. However, after testing the headphones, we don’t find that cabled vs. wireless sound quality is any different. These headphones deliver premium sound quality whether a cable is used or not. The cable does come in handy when battery power is low and you don’t feel like taking a break from listening in order to re-charge. Just add the wire and continue enjoying tunes or podcasts.

These headphones are perfect for home use. However, they really stand out in terms of performance when they are used out on the street or on public transit. When there is a lot of noise in an environment, they cancel noise beautifully. They aren’t going to blot out every single sound if surrounding noise is at high levels. However, they are going to cancel out a lot of it.

In quieter city environments, with moderate noise, they should cancel out everything or close to it.

Now, let’s look at the Bose Comfort 35 headphones…

Are Bose Comfort 35 Headphones Right for You?

Bose Quiet Comfort 35 headphones cost the same as the Sony headphones that we just discussed (prices may vary based on which retailer they are purchased from). We tested both types of headphones in noisy city environments and both worked very well in terms of cancelling or dulling sound.

However, we probably have to give the Sony headphones a bit of an edge in terms of noise-cancelling power and quality. That being said, these headphones do perform well. It’s just that the Bose headphones seem to let in more noise in the mid-range, while the Sony headphones seem to cancel out noise in all ranges effectively.

In terms of sound quality, you’ll find that these Bose headphones offer good sound quality. Overall, the sound seems a bit flatter on the Bose designs, versus the Sony headphones. As well, we didn’t find that bass sound quality was as clear with the Bose designs.

We Prefer the Sony Headphones

Both brands have rock-solid reputations. Both pairs of headphones are noise-cancelling styles. So, which pair is better? Well, after extensive testing, it all comes down to sound quality and noise-cancelling quality. Both pairs of headphones are comfortable to wear and have all of the right features.

In our opinion, Sony MDR-1000X headphones have the edge in terms of sound quality and noise-cancelling. They definitely provide sound which is truly alive and not as flat as the sound that we get with the Bose Comfort 35 headphones.

Since they both cost the same and come from respected manufacturers, you should think about giving the Sony headphones a closer look. In our view, they will provide more value for the money and you’ll probably love the way that they deliver exceptional sound quality, vibrant bass and superior noise-cancelling. As well, they are very comfortable and their touch controls will make it simple to adjust performance to your exact specifications.

We don’t want to imply that the Bose headphones aren’t good products. They are really good. They just aren’t as good the Sony MDR-1000X headphones. So, why not check out these Sony headphones online today?
